DCC dump in. Slicer file out.
A common print path: OBJ from a modeler, STL into a slicer. This page writes binary STL from the OBJ mesh. It will not apply MTL. It will not repair solids. Check scale after you download.

Source OBJ, target STL, orbit the hull, download binary STL.

Source is OBJ. The File API reads it in this tab. Nothing is posted. Keep it under 80 MB.
2
Binary STL from the OBJ faces.

Open in the slicer. Confirm millimeters versus a tiny speck.
This page is only OBJ → STL. Other pairs have their own keep and lose notes so they do not repeat this conversion.
| On this conversion | What happens |
|---|---|
| Keeps | Triangles for the slicer. |
| Drops | Groups, objects, and any hope of MTL color. |
| Next step | Slice. Use the STL viewer to glance at the hull without a slicer. |

OBJ as the source: Geometry only. Color and clips are dropped. Measured 2026-08-27 by running this converter’s own loaders and exporters headlessly. How every format was measured.
OBJ is parsed with the File API. STL is written in memory. Groups, objects, and any hope of MTL color. That is a format rule, not an upload. Files over 80 MB are refused because RAM is the limit.

Source OBJ, target STL, orbit the hull, download binary STL. No Blender and no account.
Use the file you have. OBJ to STL if the source is Wavefront. GLB to STL if the source is Generate or a glTF pack.
STL is a triangle list. Names and groups from OBJ do not survive.
No. OBJ is parsed here and STL is written in memory. There is no convert API.
Yes. Open the OBJ viewer if you only need to orbit. Convert when the next tool actually wants STL.
Slice. Use the STL viewer to glance at the hull without a slicer.
