Chrome 3D coin: mirror-bright metal
A chrome 3D coin is a coin blank and relief rendered in a bright, near-white mirror metal. In the 3DLogo.io coin studio, Chrome defaults to a reeded blank in #e7e7e7 with the relief in the same metal, exported as PNG, GLB, or STL.
When to use a chrome 3d coin
Chrome is the brightest of the four looks and shows the most reflection, so it suits motion: Spin and Tumble sweep highlights across the face. It reads as technical and contemporary rather than ceremonial.
Best for
- Motion reels and reveals
- Tech and automotive brands
- Tokens that should look machined
- Dark-mode website heroes
Conditions and limitations
A mirror metal reflects the environment; on a flat white background it looks grey. Use the studio environment and a dark background, and keep the relief bold so the highlights describe the mark rather than swallow it.
Which blank edge to choose
The default for this look is Reeded: the fine ridges catch the highlight as the coin turns.
- Reeded: Fine ridges around the edge, the classic currency rim.
- Milled: Coarser, evenly spaced grooves; reads well at small sizes.
- Smooth: A plain edge for medals, tokens, and modern marks.

How to make a chrome 3d coin on 3DLogo.io
- Open the coin studio and add a mark or a word.
- Pick Chrome in the Look panel.
- Set the studio environment and a dark background.
- Turn on Spin or Tumble to see the highlights move.
- Export MP4 for the motion, or PNG, GLB, STL.
Exports and what Free includes
Coins export as PNG (1024 px free, 2K and 4K on Pro), as GLB with the metal material, or as STL for printing. Free exports carry a small 3dlogo.io mark; Pro removes it and adds HD MP4 of the coin in motion.
Chrome 3D coin questions
- Why does my chrome coin look flat?
- Chrome needs something to reflect. Switch the environment from a plain colour to studio, city, or sunset, and use a dark background.
- Can I export the spinning coin as video?
- Yes. A 5-second MP4: 480p with a small mark on Free, 720p or 1080p with no mark on Pro.
