Text mesh in. glTF JSON out.
Same job as OBJ to GLB, but the pack stays JSON. Use GLB unless you have a tool that insists on .gltf. MTL still will not be applied.

Source OBJ, target glTF, drop, download JSON.
1
Source is OBJ. The File API reads it in this tab. Nothing is posted. Keep it under 80 MB.
2
glTF JSON is written from the OBJ mesh.
3
Pack to GLB if a single file is easier to share.
This page is only OBJ → glTF. Other pairs have their own keep and lose notes so they do not repeat this conversion.
| On this conversion | What happens |
|---|---|
| Keeps | Geometry in a glTF scene. |
| Drops | MTL maps. Default material only. |
| Next step | Pack to GLB if you need one file. Print via OBJ to STL. |
| Attribute | Result on the reference scene |

| UV coordinates | Kept |

OBJ as the source: Default material on export. Source has no PBR to keep. Measured 2026-08-27 by running this converter’s own loaders and exporters headlessly. How every format was measured.
OBJ is parsed with the File API. glTF is written in memory. MTL maps. Default material only. That is a format rule, not an upload. Files over 80 MB are refused because RAM is the limit.

Source OBJ, target glTF, drop, download JSON. No Blender and no account.
Prefer GLB for sharing. Use glTF JSON only if the next tool names .gltf specifically.
No. Sidecars are skipped. Default material only.
No. OBJ is parsed here and glTF is written in memory. There is no convert API.
Yes. Open the OBJ viewer if you only need to orbit. Convert when the next tool actually wants glTF.
