Web scene in. Desktop mesh out.
This route exists for apps that still import OBJ and will not eat GLB. The converter reads the GLB, keeps triangle geometry, and writes Wavefront text. PBR, textures, and animation do not survive. If you needed the look, stay on GLB or open the GLB viewer.

Source GLB, target OBJ, drop the file, download the .obj. MTL is not written.
1
Source is GLB. The File API reads it in this tab. Nothing is posted. Keep it under 80 MB.
2
Faces are written as OBJ. Maps and clips are not exported.
3
Import the .obj in the desktop app. Keep the .glb beside it if you still need PBR.
This page is only GLB → OBJ. Other pairs have their own keep and lose notes so they do not repeat this conversion.
| On this conversion | What happens |
|---|---|
| Keeps | Triangle geometry. |
| Drops | Materials, UVs as PBR, textures, and clips. OBJ from this tool is geometry. |
| Next step | Open the OBJ in the DCC. For print, use GLB to STL instead of this route. |

GLB as the source: Geometry only. Color and clips are dropped. Measured 2026-08-27 by running this converter’s own loaders and exporters headlessly. How every format was measured.
GLB is parsed with the File API. OBJ is written in memory. Materials, UVs as PBR, textures, and clips. OBJ from this tool is geometry. That is a format rule, not an upload. Files over 80 MB are refused because RAM is the limit.

Source GLB, target OBJ, drop the file, download the .obj. MTL is not written. No Blender and no account.
When the next app has an OBJ importer and no GLB importer. It is not a way to keep chrome, gold, or baked textures. Those live in the GLB.
No. This writer outputs mesh geometry. There is no MTL pack. Keep the original GLB if you still need the look.
No. GLB is parsed here and OBJ is written in memory. There is no convert API.
Yes. Open the GLB viewer if you only need to orbit. Convert when the next tool actually wants OBJ.
Open the OBJ in the DCC. For print, use GLB to STL instead of this route.
