3D logo for a YouTube channel

A YouTube channel needs the same mark at three sizes that behave very differently: a 2560 x 1440 banner where only a 1546 x 423 strip is guaranteed to be visible, a circular 800 px avatar, and a 16:9 intro clip. Export a transparent PNG for the first two and an MP4 for the third, then compose the banner in an image tool.

What a channel needs from the export

RequirementWhat to do on 3DLogo.io
Banner sizeYouTube publishes 2560 x 1440 as the banner size, 2048 x 1152 as the minimum, and 6 MB as the file cap, in JPG, PNG, BMP, or GIF (checked August 2026). The banner is composed in an image tool; export the logo as a transparent PNG and place it.
Banner safe areaOnly the central 1546 x 423 strip is guaranteed to show on every device. Everything outside it is cropped on some screen, so the mark belongs inside that strip and the rest of the banner should be background you can afford to lose.
AvatarYouTube recommends 800 x 800 and displays it as a circle. Export the mark square and centred with padding, because the corners are cut off; a wordmark that fills the square loses its first and last letters.
Intro clip16:9 landscape, unlike a Short. The Share panel saves a 5-second MP4 of the live scene: 480p free with a small 3dlogo.io mark, 720p or 1080p on Pro with nothing on it.
Export sizeFree stills cap at 1024 px, which is below the 2048 px banner minimum. A banner-resolution export needs Pro, which writes 2K and 4K. The 800 px avatar is inside the free cap.

Styles that suit this use

  • Chrome 3D logo: Reads at avatar size and holds an edge highlight against a dark banner.
  • Gold 3D logo: Warm metal separates from the dark grey YouTube chrome around the banner.
  • Animated 3D logo: The intro clip is the one place on a channel where the logo can move.

How to make it on 3DLogo.io

  1. Open the editor and upload the mark as SVG, or type the channel name.
  2. Choose Chrome Clean or a gold preset and set the environment to studio.
  3. Export a transparent PNG: 800 px for the avatar on Free, or 2K and up on Pro for the banner.
  4. Compose the 2560 x 1440 banner in an image tool and keep the mark inside the central 1546 x 423 strip.
  5. For an intro, set a motion in the Look panel and save a 16:9 MP4 from the Share panel.

Conditions and limitations

The editor exports the logo, not the finished channel art: the 2560 x 1440 canvas, the safe-area crop, and the circular avatar mask are all composed in an image tool afterwards. Free exports cap at 1024 px and carry a small 3dlogo.io mark, so banner-resolution art needs Pro. Platform sizes are as YouTube published them in August 2026 and are worth re-checking before a rebrand.

Questions

What size should a YouTube banner be?
YouTube publishes 2560 x 1440 pixels, with 2048 x 1152 as the minimum and a 6 MB file cap (checked August 2026). Only the central 1546 x 423 strip is guaranteed to be visible on every device, so the logo goes there.
Can I make a YouTube banner for free here?
You can make the logo for free, but not at banner resolution. Free stills export at up to 1024 px, below the 2048 px banner minimum, and carry a small 3dlogo.io mark. Pro exports 2K and 4K with nothing on the image. The 800 px avatar is within the free cap.
What size is a YouTube profile picture?
YouTube recommends 800 x 800 pixels and crops it to a circle. Export the mark square, centred, with padding on all sides so the circular mask does not clip it.
How do I make a 3D logo intro for YouTube?
Set a motion in the Look panel, then save an MP4 from the Share panel. It is a 5-second 16:9 clip: 480p on Free with a small mark, 720p or 1080p on Pro with none. A Shorts intro is 9:16 instead and has its own page.
Should the banner logo be the same as the avatar?
The same mark, framed differently. The avatar is circular and tiny, so it wants the mark alone with padding. The banner has room for the mark plus the channel name, as long as both stay inside the 1546 x 423 safe area.

The other surfaces

The same mark, and what each of the other places you will put it needs from the export.
