3D logo for an email signature

Export a transparent PNG at twice the size it will display, keep it around 100 to 200 px wide in the signature, and pick a solid finish rather than a reflective one. An email signature is the least forgiving place a logo goes: it is small, it sits on a background you do not control, and a good share of recipients will not load the image at all.

What an email signature needs from the export

RequirementWhat to do on 3DLogo.io
FormatTransparent PNG. It is the format signature guidance converges on because it keeps sharp edges at small sizes and, being transparent, does not put a white box behind the mark when a client renders the signature in dark mode (checked August 2026).
SizeDisplay at roughly 100 to 200 px wide and export at twice that for high-density screens, then set the display width in the signature. The free 1024 px export is far more than enough; the constraint is file weight, not resolution.
WeightCommon guidance is to keep signature images under about 100 KB and ideally far less. A 3D render is a photograph as far as the file is concerned, so downscale to the display size before attaching rather than shipping the full export.
FinishSolid over reflective. Chrome and glass take their appearance from the environment they were rendered in, and a signature lands on a white background, a dark background, and a quoted reply chain. A plastic, clay, or single-colour metal reads the same everywhere.
WatermarkFree exports carry a small 3dlogo.io mark. A signature goes out on every message you send, so this is a place to export on Pro rather than ship the mark to every recipient.

Styles that suit this use

  • Gold 3D logo: Carries its own colour, so it survives a dark client and a light one.
  • Chrome 3D logo: Works if your signature has a fixed background you control; risky if it does not.

How to make it on 3DLogo.io

  1. Open the editor and upload the mark as SVG, or type the company name.
  2. Choose a solid finish rather than chrome or glass, and set the background to transparent.
  3. Export a transparent PNG, then downscale to twice your intended display width.
  4. Insert it in the signature and set the display width to half the pixel width.
  5. Send yourself a test in both light and dark mode, and once with images blocked.

Conditions and limitations

A logo in a signature is a still image and nothing else: animation does not play in email, so the MP4 and any motion you set in the editor are not usable here. Many clients also block external images until the recipient approves them, so the signature has to read without the logo at all, which means the alt text and the text of the signature carry it. Sizes are as signature tooling publishes them, checked August 2026.

Questions

What size should an email signature logo be?
Around 100 to 200 pixels wide as displayed, exported at twice that for high-density screens, and kept well under 100 KB. Set the display width in the signature rather than relying on the file being the right size.
Should the logo be a PNG or a JPEG?
PNG, with transparency. A JPEG cannot be transparent, so it arrives with a white box around it, which is visible the moment a client renders the signature in dark mode. PNG also keeps edges sharp at signature sizes.
Can I use an animated 3D logo in an email signature?
No. Email does not play video, and animated formats render inconsistently across clients. Export a still PNG. Save the motion for a website hero or a social clip, which have their own pages.
Why does my logo look wrong in dark mode?
Usually a white background baked into the image, or a reflective finish. Export with a transparent background, and prefer a material that carries its own colour: chrome has almost no colour of its own and takes it from whatever it was rendered against.
What if the recipient blocks images?
Assume some will. Write alt text that names the company rather than describing the render, and make sure the signature still reads as a signature with the image missing. The logo is decoration in that context, not information.

The same mark, and what each of the other places you will put it needs from the export.
