Updated August 2026
Scan mesh in. Web file out.
Use this to share a meshed PLY on the web. Point clouds without faces will fail. Vertex color may survive. Full glTF texture sets will not appear because they were not in the PLY.

Meshed PLY, target GLB, drop, download.
1
Source is PLY. The File API reads it in this tab. Nothing is posted. Keep it under 80 MB.
2
A GLB is packed from the PLY mesh.
3
Open in the GLB viewer. Convert PLY to STL if you meant to print.
This page is only PLY → GLB. Other pairs have their own keep and lose notes so they do not repeat this conversion.
| On this conversion | What happens |
|---|---|
| Keeps | Mesh, and vertex color when the PLY stored it. |
| Drops | Scan metadata the web file does not need. |
| Next step | GLB viewer. For print, use PLY to STL instead. |

PLY as the source: Default material on export. Source has no PBR to keep. Measured 2026-08-27 by running this converter’s own loaders and exporters headlessly. How every format was measured.
PLY is parsed with the File API. GLB is written in memory. Scan metadata the web file does not need. That is a format rule, not an upload. Files over 80 MB are refused because RAM is the limit.

Meshed PLY, target GLB, drop, download. No Blender and no account.
Not if there are no faces. Mesh the scan first, then convert PLY to GLB.
Only if the PLY already had a shaded mesh. This is a container change, not a remesh from a photo.
No. PLY is parsed here and GLB is written in memory. There is no convert API.
Yes. Open the PLY viewer if you only need to orbit. Convert when the next tool actually wants GLB.
