PLY in. glTF JSON out.
Same destination family as PLY to GLB. Prefer the binary unless a tool names .gltf. Faces are required.

Meshed PLY, target glTF, drop, download JSON.
1
Source is PLY. The File API reads it in this tab. Nothing is posted. Keep it under 80 MB.
2
glTF JSON from the PLY mesh.
3
Pack to GLB if sharing is easier as one file.
This page is only PLY → glTF. Other pairs have their own keep and lose notes so they do not repeat this conversion.
| On this conversion | What happens |
|---|---|
| Keeps | Mesh in a glTF scene. |
| Drops | PLY-only extra channels the writer does not map. |
| Next step | Pack to GLB to share. Print via PLY to STL. |

PLY as the source: Default material on export. Source has no PBR to keep. Measured 2026-08-27 by running this converter’s own loaders and exporters headlessly. How every format was measured.
PLY is parsed with the File API. glTF is written in memory. PLY-only extra channels the writer does not map. That is a format rule, not an upload. Files over 80 MB are refused because RAM is the limit.

Meshed PLY, target glTF, drop, download JSON. No Blender and no account.
GLB for one file. glTF JSON only on request from the next tool.
Yes. Point-only PLY fails the mesh check.
No. PLY is parsed here and glTF is written in memory. There is no convert API.
Yes. Open the PLY viewer if you only need to orbit. Convert when the next tool actually wants glTF.
Pack to GLB to share. Print via PLY to STL.
